Reviews
My wife and I organized our wedding trip and wedding dinner at the Hotel Valadier. We traveled in an intimate group of 8 people. The hotel met and even far exceeded our expectations. Service was very friendly at the highest level. The hotel is located in the tourist heart of Rome, the most important monuments can be reached by walking - no need for any additional means of transport. The hotel includes two great restaurants and a club that hosts a live music event every night. The Hi-Res restaurant located on the roof of the hotel deserves a separate opinion. It is simply amazing and breathtaking!!!
The hotel's team - once again, we sincerely thank you!
Positive:
- Location: Very centrally located and we were able to access the majority of the sightseeing and shopping!
- Clean: They did a very good job with cleaning and preping the room. they also had an "evening" service, where they will visit the room and quickly re-do it for you.
- Staff: Reception & Service staff, very polite and ready to deal with your requests (thanks for the cold coffee!!)
Negative:
- Size of room: For me it is on the small size, but as we were out of the hotel all day, it was not such a great issue. The room also had only 1 plug (to charge phones, tablets, etc).
-Noisy: Not the best soundproofing one can get. The noise from the jazz-club downstairs can be heard.
In general, a positive experience.
I don't usually write bad reviews, but I had such a terrible experience here I couldn't not leave one. When we first walked into the hotel room, everything was small and crammed in. It was claustrophobic. In the bathroom, the toilet was placed behind the door making it difficult to get in and out. Everyone struggled to get in and out of the shower because of the awful layout. The decor looks as if it hasn't been changed for over twenty years and our room smelt of stale food.
When it came to sleeping, we could hear peoples conversations from outside. The windows weren't blocking any noise from cars or people. At 11pm at night, music was being blasted from the downstairs of the hotel ,so much so, that our room was vibrating. This awful cacophony continued until 4am in the morning!! When booking this hotel, nowhere does it mention that there is essentially going to be a night club going on in the "piano room" of the hotel. Everyone had a sleepless night and this has ruined our first few days in Rome.
Our experience was so bad, that we could not stay for another night. However when it came to asking for a refund for a sleepless night, the hotel had the audacity to tell us that a refund was not available. The hotel's solution was to move us up to a higher floor, but we had gone up to a higher floor when the music was playing and the noise was still awful. This was not an acceptable solution.
I do not recommend a visit here. I don't know how this is a 4 star.
AVOID!
We were very disappointed! The rooms were small especially the bathroom which was poorly laid out and tiny.
The main problem was the disco that operates on the floor below till 3am every night. The bass made the room shake so no sleep on the first night! Me and my two children were very grumpy the next day.
Don't be pulled in by the great location and friendly staff if you like to sleep. The main reason that you book a hotel is to sleep so not fit for purpose!
After looking at other reviews we checked out and sought alternative accommodation. The solutions offered were not up to scratch. So we are out of pocket as the rooms were non refundable.
Great location for an apartment right in the thick of things we have a 2 bed apartment for the 5 of us. The two room are fab and 2 bathrooms are fab, well appointed. The kitchen is great, no oven or hob, but a microwave fridge and dishwasher and crockery and cutlery too. Really clean. The staff were very sweet and spotted it was my birthday, we didn't say, thank you for the prosecco!
Not family friendly. I was charged $600 for a separate room or else they would not allow us to stay. I have two babies and a 7 year old. We could have fitted in one room. Additionally, there was no air circulation causing my son to cough. Rooms are small compared to other hotels in that area. I stayed in another hotel in that area with much better rooms and hospitality when we returned to Rome after our 7 day cruise.
Amazing hotel, really great experience, cold air conditioning, a beautiful rooftop restaurant. Breakfast will cost you €15 but I found it to be very worth it especially if you will be eating a large breakfast and skipping lunch. Lovely …
By far the worst 4 star hotel I've stayed at. The ground floor of the hotel turns into a private club late at night which resonates throughout the building. They refused to turn down the music at 1AM and then refused to refund us for the sleepless night. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.
